Andrology is a specialised laboratory that performed assays to assess male reproductive health.
Physicians request andrology testing to determine a male patient’s fertility status, usually when he and his partner have been struggling to conceive.
Andrology testing is also requested post-sterilization (vasectomy) to verify that the procedure was successful.
We perform semen analysis and advanced sperm testing.
Semen analysis (Spermiogram) is performed to assess the health and functioning of sperm.

- Certain outside areas, like Trichardt, Witbank, Nelspruit, etc do initial testing on a spermiogram themselves (like sperm washes & sperm counts post vasectomy), and the rest is then sent to Pretoria Reproductive Biology to complete.
- Rustenburg & Mafikeng: does spermiograms.

Sperm testing is only performed between 7am and 10am.
Sperm washes and inseminations are performed by appointment only.
